If the church separated from the state, why can a business be civilly liable regarding religious beliefs?

A question from a reader: How did religious beliefs earn so much respect whereas if their infringed upon, an individual may have potential recourse.
All of this with the understanding that the church should in no way be affiliated with the state.
Also are there any other countries that allow citizens to break their laws in the name of “religious beliefs” or are we (USA) alone with that methodology?
I’ll assume the logic is discrimination, if religion is separate, how is it still labeled discrimination if the law doesn’t recognize religion?
What clause or provision entertains discrimination claims regarding religion?
Well I think you are incorrect. I business can not be held liable in regards to religious beliefs. Perhaps only if the didn’t hire you because you were a certain religion then that would be discrimination. They can stop you from practicing your religion on the job if it interferes with the job any time they wish.
Not sure how other countries handle this issue.
If religion is separate, how is it still labeled discrimination if the law doesn’t recognize religion? The Law does in fact recognize religions, its in the Constitution that the Law is supposed to let people excersize their religion freely.
What clause or provision entertains discrimination claims regarding religion? The same ones that apply to all discrimination claims
That’s nothing.People are killed in the name of religious beliefs and no one has ever been held accountable. Mankind is still in its infancy, due to a promise that you get to live your life again. Cough, cough.
If a business is held liable over anything involving religious beliefs, it is usually with the undertone of discrimination, such as not being hired as another person mentioned. You have the right to practice whichever religion or lack thereof you choose, and recourse usually comes when a business interferes with that right.
