Scientology: First Picket from the LMT

Filmed in January of 2000 — A few days after the Lisa McPherson Trust opened its doors in Clearwater, Florida (right next to Scientology’s dirty tricks division, the Office of Special Affairs) Bob Minton led a small group in a protest of Scientology’s abuses. Then head of OSA, Mike Rinder, attempted to have us arrested. NOTE: The LMT closed it’s doors in late 2001. The phone number memtioned in the video no longer goes to the LMT.

  • JOOGAL1111 says:

    @FreedumbFighter28 I have a sneaking suspicion that Rinder is working deep undercover for the cult. Well maybe not but you never know the lengths these nutbags will go to. Dont remember who said it but its true. The best way to beat the opposition is to be the opposition.

    RIP Bob. You were magnificent in your prime. Your descendants are winning, and corporate Scientology is going down in 2012. Hallelujah!

  • FrankMahovlich says:

    I don’t think a reform will work, unless, of course, it guts almost everything that Hubbard wrote. Take away Miscavige and you still have the writings of the loonie Hubbard. Did Minton understand that?

  • arru23 says:

    “even Mike Rinder” Bob was right!

  • 7stringSupression says:

    @FreedumbFighter28 NO….He’s still a Scientologist. L Ron Hubbard=POISON

  • bogglerful says:

    If David Miscavige stops destroying Scientology, then Scientology will rebound and become the extremely abusive public menace it was during its period of greatest expansion in the 1970s. Has that been forgotten? Scientology’s abuses are more visible now – largely thanks to the Internet – but Scientology was at its most abusive during its period of greatest expansion.

    And, L. Ron Hubbard *would* have approved of what Miscavige has done.

    Bob Minton was a hero. Here he’s being naive.

  • Sandiegoanons says:

    @SteenMan2 Bob Minton was wealthy and spent about 10 million dollars to fight scientology. After several years he called it quits and retired. Back then, it was much more costly and dangerous to go up against the scilons. They would spend loads of time and money with frivolous suits, charges etc.tie him up in court. Many people died mysteriously. While it may not seem like he did much, he probably did more than anybody fighting the cult. You could say he softened them up for anonymous.

    Minton = American Hero

  • AtheistGlitch says:

  • Matt7895 says:

    @evernetherall He was brought down by Scientology lawsuits and blackmail, and died last year of a heart ailment. Information is on Wikipedia.

    @Matt7895
    What a lovely comment. I was unaware something happened to Bob Minton. Would you mind filling in the blanks for meh? I’ve very little ‘history’ with COS til the last cuppla yrs. more or less updating with the help of Mark Bunker, Tory MaGoo, Anon & others; but from all I’ve seen of Bob, he seemed to me the best kind of person whom I instantly liked & respected ~~ his dedication, humility, hard work & kindly spirit. r.i.p. for Bob ,~_~\ and thanks Matt, 4-u’r time & help.

  • ducksoup2007 says:

    Bob Minton was right about a lot it just hit me when mike rinder was in the video

  • Matt7895 says:

    So sad what happened to Bob Minton after this. Did this protest help? Did any of these people leave Scientology because of the LMT? I just feel so angry because it feels like Scientology goes on while everyone else just suffers.

  • RadioPaul1 says:

    My my my, how the world has changed.

  • CaptainAwesomeoh13 says:

    Wait, these people are bused somewhere for dinner?? Why can’t they go out for dinner? Is management afraid that people will make a run for it?
