Spirit Jailbreak iPod Touch 3.1.3 Demonstration
New video:
***UPDATE*** 06.22.10 – 12:23EST SPIRIT DOES NOT work on the iPod Touch 2G if it if an MC model device. To find out what model you have go to Settings and General and About. Your Model will have something that looks like MC058LL or similar. If it starts with MC DO NOT try Spirit. Wait for redsn0w from dev-team to release the update for MC model devices. Should be within a few days. This demonstrates the Spirit jailbreak software on an iPod Touch. Sorry about the camera focusing in and out. No clue what that’s about but you get the idea. REMEMBER Windows 7 & Vista people go into the properties of Spirit.exe and select compatibility mode for Windows 98 to get it to work properly. Props @comex
thanks dude… it works:)
Lol …”your son’s ipod”
mine is a MC bla bla whateve thingy… tell my wat else i can do to jail break.
i did it, but on cydia i installed winterboard and it didnt install any themes
@mc3driver24 Spirit does nothing to the device which would cause any “issues”. All it does it put Cydia on the device. No data is lost and nothing is changed. It’s safe to do. If you ever decide you do not want to jailbreak or have to take to Apple just restore to a previous back up point.
@thecomputerguyonline My iPod touch has a history of completely fuking up during any kind of restore or update that only apple can fix (and even they can’t completely) Do you know if something like this would cause any problem? Because I know apple won’t help me if it messed up during a jailbreak. I’m just trying to be safe.
@mc3driver24 No. The spirit jailbreak does not affect your phone in any other way than to add Cydia to the device.
Does the spirit jailbreak delete everything on the ipod, like music, apps, pics, contacts, etc.? And do you need to have itunes? Cauze my ipod has a lot of stuff on it and i havent synced in like a year and itunes is not on my new pc…
i can’t download it, the download fails everytime..
@thecomputerguyonline Sweet thanks, i just did it and it worked!
@Bramptonrailfan If Spirit recognized your device when it’s plugged into your PC or laptop it is safe to jailbreak.
Hey, cool demonstration, i have the same version at that ipod but my model is MCO86C. So is that safe with Spirit, or not? Anyone have the same model by any chance?
@thecomputerguyonline okay thanks
4 thumbs up! thx for the excellent video
@KR0NiiCxS no. Cydia works over 3G as well
you need to be connected to wi fi to have cydia work right?
@thecomputerguyonline yeh i fixed it but its not an MC model so do u know what could’ve gone wrong? and how do i downgrade from iOS 4 cos i just updated but id like to jailbreak it..
@madfreshkid69 what model? MC? If it’s MC model there is no jailbreak out for it to date. I’ve heard rumors that redsn0w jailbreaks it but no confirmations. Also doesn’t work if you’ve used Spirit in the past to jailbreak. Once a jailbreak comes out for 4.0 we’ll all know it. Spirit saturated the search engines for weeks once it was released. It was hard not to find it.
@thecomputerguyonline
@thecomputerguyonline i havent jailbroken it before and it hasnt been upgraded to iOS 4. Its a 2G touch (3.1.3)
@madfreshkid69 What version firmware are you running? What model do you own? Have you previously jailbroken this device? Have you upgraded to iOS 4?
@HagggiHa2505 I have not tried it with 4.0. If Spirit recognizes it then it will work. Also visit Spirit’s web site to see supported devices.
my ipod froze at the screen at 2:05 so i held down the power and menu buttons to restore it but now its frozen with a black screen with an apple in the middle. I left it overnight and it didnt change.. help please?
is that possible with ipod 4.0??
@jatt2flyy it is 3.1.3 but if you connect your device to your PC or Mac and Spirit picks up the model of your phone under the “jailbreak” button…it will work with it. That’s the beauty of the software…it’s that easy.
