Sketch of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church under construction, Warwick, ca. 1925

Photographer: Unidentified
Location: Warwick Queensland, Australia
Description: St Mary’s Church was opened in 1926. On Sunday, 29th February, 1920 the foundation stone for the church was blessed and laid by Archbishop Daniel Mannix of Melbourne, assisted by Archbishop James Duhig of Brisbane. The architects were Dornbusch and Connolly of Warwick.
Warwick was the first town on the Darling Downs, established in 1849 on the banks of the Condamine River. The rich grazing land around the area supports horse and cattle studs, fine wool and grain and grain. In 1871 the railway from Ipswich came through. Warwick is situated 158km south west of Brisbane on the Cunningham Highway.

Is nobody buying into the Church of Scientology anymore?
Is nobody buying into the Church of Scientology anymore?
4 years ago I looked at E-bay for going market values on “Scientology” items and there was lots of activity and lots of bids on Scn items.
15 minutes ago (3:13 PM GMT, Aug 18, 2009), I looked and not one bid, with the exception of the obvious “self bidders”, on 7 pages of items.
Isn’t this yet another indication that their “ship is sinking”?

Answer by Christian purity
Scientology is a faith based upon being cool and a fad. It is not cool any more. Celebrities don’t endorse it any more.

Can you please explain what are the beliefs of the church of scientology?
Can you please explain what are the beliefs of the church of scientology?
All I thought that the church has combined beliefs of “science and spirituality” because of the word “scientology” well perhaps I was wrong.
Can anybody please explain what are the beliefs of the church of scientology?

Their beliefs have nothing to do with science or spirituality.
STAY AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE.
It’s an evil cult created with one purpose – making money . Its effects on believers are destructive – Check out a partial list of victims: http://whatstheharm.net/scientology.html
Please read about:
* Its blatantly illegal and immoral activities, as illustrated by Operation Snow White and Operation Freakout.
* Its “fair game” policy of harassing and destroying critics, as illustrated by the stories of Keith Henson, Frank Oliver and Paulette Cooper
* Its fatal abuse of its members, including Lisa McPherson, Heribert Pfaff, Josephus Havenith, and others
* Its brutal, illegal treatment of members who the Church considers in need of rehabilitation or punishment using private prisons
* Its tax-exempt status in the United States, which was gained by blackmailing the IRS
* Its practice of breaking up families
Read “the road to xenu” for an account of a girl who escaped scientology after 12 years! http://www.cs.cmu.edu/~dst/Library/Shelf/xenu/
The cult’s core belief is that we are all reincarnated aliens, and all of our problems are because of other alien souls haunting our bodies. That’s the big secret – but it’s only revealed to scientologists after many years and over $ 300,000 – so most of them have no knowledge of it. Read the alien story yourself – in Hubbard’s own handwriting: http://www.cs.cmu.edu/~dst/OTIII/
Everything about scientology is dishonest, from recruiting gullible folk using fake “personality tests”, through collecting dirt on individuals using “auditing” in case they ever want to leave, to claiming everybody who criticizes them is a criminal, probably a child molester. Is it true that I’m a “Bad Catholic” if I hardly ever go to church?

Is it true that I’m a “Bad Catholic” if I hardly ever go to church?
Not to mention the fact that I have some pretty serious disagreements with christianity in general and can be a little against the institution of organized religions. I DO however believe in a higher being and that theres a heaven and all that jazz, oh and I’m confirmed in Catholic faith. Honestly, am I a bad catholic to you? Just curious what others might think of me
