A question from a reader: After a long illness, a woman died and arrived at the Gates of Heaven. While she was waiting for Saint Peter to greet her, she peeked through the Gates. She saw that it was so beautiful.
Saint Peter came by; the woman said to him “This is such a wonderful place! How do I get in?”
“You have to spell a word”, Saint Peter told her.
“Which word?” the woman asked.
“Love.”
The woman correctly spelled “Love” and Saint Peter welcomed her into Heaven.
About six months later, Saint Peter came to the woman and asked her to watch the Gates of Heaven for him that day. While the woman was guarding the Gates of Heaven, her husband arrived.
“I’m surprised to see you,” the woman said. “How have you been?” “Oh, I’ve been doing pretty well since you died,” her husband told her. “I married the beautiful young nurse who took care of you while you were ill. And then I won the lottery. I sold the little house you and I lived in and bought a big mansion. And my wife and I traveled all around the world. We were on vacation and I went water skiing today. I fell, the ski hit my head, and here I am. How do I get in?”
“You have to spell a word”, the woman told him.
“Which word?” her husband asked.
“Czechoslovakia.”
Do Christians really believe that heaven will have pearly gates?
A question from a reader: and that Saint Peter will be guarding them? I mean literally – gates, iron or otherwise, or is this figurative to you ?

If he’s that forgiving then why would he turn me away at the Pearly Gates? Why should it matter when I ask for forgiveness if he removes our transgressions as far as “east goes west (infinity?)”

A question from a reader: John Terry arrives at the pearly gates of Heaven. Drowned in deep thought and suspicion, St Peter scratches his chin and picks up J.T’s ‘life portfolio’.
” Tell me J.T, why I can’t let you in yet while I can’t refer you to the fiery pits of hell for eternity – you’ve not exactly been a good boy have you ? ”
J.T is reduced to tears and puts on his drama queen act.
” You don’t understand, deep down i’m really really really sorry for what I did – i…i just don’t know how to tell him in words – ”

” hmm. sorry for what you did ? what did you do J.T ? and tell who in words ? ”
Terry wipes his eyes and looks up at mighty St Peter.
” Wayne. I just wanna tell the bloke i’m sorry for what I did ”
St Peter hands J.T a box of andrex tissues, while jotting something down on his portfolio.
” If I could offer you 1 wish to improve the fortunes of your club, what would it be ? ”
J.T’s face lights up: ” I wish you could improve our stadium or buy us a newer bigger one ! yeah ! a state of the art 90,000 seater the pride of west london ! yeah ! ”
St Peter gives him a straight face.
” hmm. Thats not going to be very easy J.T. Planning permission, time schedule, suitablity of location…. ok another wish instead but not that one “.
J.T replies enthusiasticaly ” okay then ! i wish you could just make me a nice loyal friend and make me able to keep it in my pants and not whip it out each time a mates wife comes near me ! ”
St Peter drops the portfolio and wipes the sweat off his forehead.
” did you say you want the new stadium to be a 90,000 seater or 120,000 ? ”

The guy answered, “I was a doctor and I helped many people get well.”
Saint Peter said, ” Okay, you may come in.”
Saint Peter said to the second guy, “Why should I let you in?”
The guy answered, “I was a lawyer and defended many innocent people.”
Saint Peter said, “Okay, you may come in.”
Saint Peter then said to the last guy, “And why should I let you in?”
The guy answered, “Well, I was a manageed health care professional and I helped to keep health care cost down.”
Saint Peter thought about this a moment and said, “Okay, you may come in, but you can only stay three days!”
