Can catholic priest officiate a civil marriage away from church?
A question from a reader: We are both catholics but don’t have time to do traditional catholic wedding (which can take 6 to 12months to prepare). She is currently working overseas and won’t be back until 1 month before the wedding. But we would like to have a priest officiate our wedding. Any idea?

A question from a reader: I went to the mayors office, bought a marriage license for $12.00, took it to the jail, gave it to the guard, they took it to him, he signed it, gave it back to the guard, they brought it back to me then I took it back to the mayors office and they printed me a document that looked like a marriage certificate that is registered with the state. So, of coarse when he did get released, I don’t know where he went. Yap yep call me dumb but oh well everything happens for a reason. I just want my maiden name back!!! what do i do? an annulment? a divorce? Yes a name change but I have to give reason. what route should I go about this?

Question about annulment 5 years after marriage?
A question from a reader: I got married 5 years ago in the UK. We did not consummate the marriage and we basically split up about a month after getting married.
I went to a divorce solicitor about 1 year later, and started proceddings, but never finished it because I moved.
Well now 5 years on what can I do? can I still get an annulment because we never consummated it or do I have to apply for divorce?

It was a love marriage.and it happened in very wiered situation.
My husband was very much greedy person and he and he was always behind my money. We both were classmates . and i got job before him.so i used to help him a lot whenever he required money. I was giving my credit card to him to do some purchasing. I was thinking that it was like Sudha Murthy helping Narayana Murthy before their Marriage. But he got Job in Mumbai, and left me when i was 1 month pregnent.that time he also made a credit card bill of 33 thousand and went to mumbai and for 3 months he didnot contacted me.i only paid the entire money in installments and for 6 months i cutdown all my expenses i used to have food for 1 time, i was not using the mobile, not paying the rent. and finally recovered from that, i used to ask him for the money he never gave. he took my laptop gold chain, by using his sweet words, he made me to put 15000 to his father’s account, he used to blackmail me either i will sell of the laptop, and put the neked pics in orkut and uploading sites. so i was in contact with his parents, and they didnot take any action against him.finally i have decided to give a police complaint.I gave a police complaint. the only thing i got back is laptop… all other things he didnot gave me…He told that he will marry me. and he married me in a temple… next day he took me to police station and tried to close the case. but they didnot do it. they told to get it closed in court. So we went to highcourt and closed the case. Meanwhile, he didnot take the responsibility of taking me to Mumbai and keeping me with him. He used me just to close his case. case got closed. Now, he is not taking me to mumbai along with him. not ready to take the responsibility as a husband. takes my money often whenever required he comes here, pleases me with his words, and shows a dream of taking me to Mumbai, but after wards, scolds me and hits me badly in front of his friends.I want to get annulment or divorce along with my money back. Is it possible? please help

We were married by a judge at the courthouse and never had the marriage convalidated. This is because he misled me about how many times he had been married and that he was free to marry in the church (which he was not). Do I need an annulment? Please don’t guess.
