Jews: Would an Orthodox Jew Remain a Jew if Converting Away?

Jews: Would an Orthodox Jew Remain a Jew if Converting Away?
Some claim that one can remain Jewish no matter what religion they convert to away from Judaism. Do you agree that apostates are still considered part of the Jewish community?

Can Jews that commit blasphemy and begin worshiping outside of Judaism be considered still part of Judaism? There’s some ridiculous claims that some Orthodox “rabbis” became ‘messianics’ but were still part of Judaism.

Eastern Orthodox Christianity?

Eastern Orthodox Christianity?
Hey guys! Couple questions on Eastern Orthodox Christianity …

1. Do they believe that they are the only correct Christian branch? I mean, of course every branch thinks they are the only ones that are right, but, also that anyone who believes that Yeshua is their savior will be forgiven. I mean to ask if they think they are the only ones that will go to Heaven.
2. I read that they believe that Mary was sinless because the Mother of God had to be sinless in order to create Him, but, then wouldn’t Mary’s Mom also have to be sinless in order to create the Mother of God, and so on and so on ?
3. What do the Orthodox Christians believe is necessary for salvation?
4. What all books of the Bible do they believe in? For example, Baptists believe in only the New and Old Testaments, do Orthodox Christians believe in more than that?
5. What do you call yourself if you are an Orthodox Christian? Do you just say, I’m an Orthodox Christian? Like, if you’re Methodist, you just say “I’m Methodist”, then do you just say “I’m Orthodox”? Haha, sorry that’s kind of random I just always wondered.

Okay try to answer what you can! :) Thanks guys.

1. Yes, we believe that Eastern Orthodox Church keeps true Christian faith. But we cannot be sure that non-Orthodox won’t go to Heaven. It’s God’s deal.

4. We aren’t Mormons. Old Testament and New Testament only.

5. The most proper term would be “Eastern Orthodox Christian”. Some people say that they are “Orthodox” only. The other ones add an adjective describing their ethnic roots (Russian, Greek, Serbian..). IMO it’s bad because it tells more about nationality than about religion.

Orthodox Theology: An Introduction

Orthodox Theology: An Introduction

At the time of his death in 1958, Vladimir Lossky was already known as one of the most brilliant Orthodox theologians of our century. His study, The Mystical Theology of the Eastern Church, was widely recognized not only as an authoritative presentation of Orthodox theology but also as a challenge to the prevailing Western understanding of God-man relations. Yet only in the posthumous publication of Lossky’s many other works has the full extent of his contribution to modern Christian thought bee
