Does the “Bible” ever mention anything about the Quran?
i kinda had a debate in school with a friend on religious views. well, it all started with him going against my decision to watch The Golden Compass because he thinks the plot was really about a girl trying to “destroy God.” anyways… after that, he kinda went a bit beserk with the whole religious issues. i mean i hold on pretty tight with my Islamic beliefs and all but i ain’t all that religious, religious… you know, up to the point where i cover my self head-to-toe and don’t speak to guys at all (that’s just a bit too extreme.) after a while, he shifted the conversation to Islam. he, as a Christian, looked down on me for not believing that Jesus was the Son of God. he made a long lecture about the whole subject. it was like he wanted to convince me to change my views… but then i told him that the Quran was the last Holy Book sent down by God, and it mentions the Zabur, Torah, and the Bible… and also the Day of Judgement… and yet the Bible doesn’t mention zip about the Quran.
(sorry if it’s a lot to read)

but yeah, my friend just kept on asking me why i don’t just follow what the Bible says and thought it kinda ridiculous that i’m not.

:/
i know it doesn’t… it was just one of those rhetorical type of questions or however you want to say it…

i guess it was just me trying to make a point to my friend as to why i follow the Quran…

the Quran is the last book ever sent down by God. and it explains everything. and the Bible was sent before… and i don’t see why many still follow that…

but hey… i still show respect to those of different beliefs… just not so much to those who can’t respect my own beliefs…

urgh… i just don’t know how else to explain it. lol xP

of course not, the bible was written hundreds of years before the koran. the koran DOES however speak of the “people of the book” implying christians, as well as many of the characters found in the old and new testament.

What does Qur’an say happens to “non-sinner” atheists?

What does Qur’an say happens to “non-sinner” atheists?
What does the Qur’an say will become of “non-sinner” atheists on Judgment Day? These would be atheists who despite the sin of not believing in God, are generally moral people and following a standard of morality of secular humanism which mirrors God’s laws even though they do not believe in God.

No

What do u believe in…The “Holy Bible” or the Holy Quran?

What do u believe in…The “Holy Bible” or the Holy Quran?
The Koran says:

In Soorah (chapter) Maryam (Mary):

19:20. She said (Mary), “How shall i have a son, seeing no man has a touched me, and i am not unchaste?”
19:21. He said (Angel Gabriel), “So (it will be): thy lord saith, it is easy for me: and (we wish) to appoint him as a sign unto men and a mercy from us, it is a matter decreed”

YES THE KORAN SAYS THIS…..IT AFFIRMS JESUS CHRIST’S MIRACULOUS BIRTH, NOW LETS LOOK AT WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS……

New testament:

In the book of Mathew:
M’t:1:1: The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.

And in many other places Jesus Christ is addressed as the son of god for which even Muslims agree upon…..in the sense that god willed and he was made……

So what is the Christiandom or the Bible trying to say……that MARY was a WHORE(PROSTITUTE) (Nauzubillah, forgive me for the language)…….????
Who was she born to……Did David and Abraham, all have her????
Which DO you agree with more…..The Koran or the “Holy Bible”????
Ms: Firebolt
You say Islam denies trinity…..So does the Bible….the word “trinity” and the word “Christian” or “Christendom” does not exist in the Bible….it is an invented word that Jesus Christ never heard of….if you say yes, quote to me the reference……..
Mr: aaronmsl
This is the statement that whole Christendom uses when they want to get away “metaphorical and spiritual”
Okay, even if i agree with you for the sake of argument, what does it (the above word “son”) stand for???
Ms: Hypnotik
Ya right…the Bible is talking about ancestors for a person (Jesus Christ) who did not even have a father, does that make sense to you???
Ms: Lamme
Sister, you need to get your stats right……
and sister, the forces of nature has already forgiven me…….Thanks to god
Mr or Ms: Loosecan
You are as loose as your name sounds. Well this answer of yours makes the Bible self contradictory….
Hey Vic:
Your answer makes you a hypocrite for thinking that Mary is a *****.
And ya if you want to speak up and tell something or raise a question you better do it in your own page….thank you

The Temptation of Jesus in Bible versus Quran

In the story of the temptation of Jesus, four important issues have to be clarified:

Who is the First to launch the title Son of God on Jesus?
Satan knows the Old Testament and he misquotes its verses.
Jesus knows the Old Testament he accurately quotes its verses.
What Jesus said about Satan?

The interesting Biblical story of the temptation of Jesus is found in details in Matthew 4:1-11 and Luke 4:1-13.  It is also found very briefly, without any details, in Mark 1:12-13

1)    Who is the First to launch the title “Son of God” on Jesus?

It is very fascinating that Satan was the first one ever in the History to say and launch the title Son of God on Jesus.

The Bible says:

“Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the desert to be tempted by the devil. After fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry. The tempter (Satan) came to him and said, “If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread.”
Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.'”
“Then the devil took him to the Holy City and had him stand on the highest point of the temple.”If you are the Son of God,” he said, “throw yourself down. For it is written: “‘He will command his angels concerning you, and they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.'”
Jesus answered him, “It is also written: ‘Do not put the Lord your God to the test.'”
Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor. “All this I will give you,” he said, “if you will bow down and worship me.”
Jesus said to him, “Away from me, Satan! For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.'”
Then the devil left him, and angels came and attended him.

2)    Satan knows the Old Testament very well and he misquotes its verses

This story indicates that Satan knows the Old Testament very well but he misquotes its verses.  He said: For it is written: “‘He will command his angels concerning you, and they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.'”

Herein, Satan misquoted the verses of Psalm 91:7-16 that say:

7 A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you.

8 You will only observe with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked.

9 If you make the Most High your dwelling— you said: the LORD is my refuge

10 then no harm will befall you; no disaster will come near your tent.

11 For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways;

12 they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.

13 You will tread upon the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent.

14 “Because he loves me,” says the LORD, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.

15 He will call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him.

16 With long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation.”

This quote does not fit Jesus because:

“A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you”… this never happened to Jesus.
“You will see the punishment of the wicked”; Jesus did not see the punishment of the wicked that killed him.
“No harm will befall you”; and the Jews killed him
“Long life will I satisfy him”; Jesus lived for 33 years only.
“Show him my salvation”; does Jesus need salvation like us?
“You said: the LORD is my refuge”; it is well known that Jesus never ever said that in the Bible.  The only one who said that in the entire Bible is King David in Psalm 142:5 ; he said:  “I cry to you, O LORD; I say, “You are my refuge”

This shows how Satan misquotes the verses of the Old Testament.

3)    Jesus knows the Old Testament very well and he accurately quotes its verses

Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.'”

Herein, Jesus quoted the verses of Deuteronomy 8:1-6 that say:

Be careful to follow every command I am giving you
God test you in order to know what was in your heart, whether or not you would keep his commands.
God teach you that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the LORD.
Observe the commands of the LORD your God, walking in his ways and revering him.
Keep the commandments of the LORD thy God, to walk in his ways, and to fear him.

Jesus answered him, “It is also written: ‘Do not put the Lord your God to the test.'”

Herein, Jesus quoted the verses of Deuteronomy 6:16-17 that say:

Do not test the LORD your God
Be sure to keep the commands of the LORD your God and the stipulations and decrees he has given you.

Jesus said to him, “Away from me, Satan! For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.'”

Herein, Jesus quoted a verse that is not found therein in the entire Old Testament!

This quote is basically found in Matthew 4:10 and Luke 4:8, the two books that talk about the story of the temptation of the Lord Jesus.

Herein, we have one of two possibilities:

Either the Lord Jesus is a liar, which is impossible, and this quote is not present in the Old Testament, or the writers of the Old Testament took it off from their book to prove that the Lord Jesus is a liar!  I do believe that the writers of the Old Testament are the liars not the Lord Jesus by any mean. This indicates that the Old Testament is corrupted.

Back to the testimony of Satan, the Devil, when he said that the Lord Jesus is the “Son of God”

Does Satan say the Truth?

I will let the Lord Jesus answer this question.

What the Lord Jesus said about Satan?

In John 8:44, the Lord Jesus said:

“You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, and has nothing to do with the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies.”

By the way, the Quran gives very inclusive description of Satan.

From the above, we may conclude that the teachings of the Lord Jesus clarify the relation between man and the Almighty Creator as:

Worship the Lord God
Keep His commandments
walk in His ways
Serve him only and
Fear him.

Most of these simple and clear teachings are wiped away by Paul.

N.B. In the Quran, these teachings of Jesus are the same teachings of every messenger sent by Allah.

————————————————

Now, we have the testimony of Satan that Jesus is the son of God.

Also, we have the testimony of Jesus that Satan is the father of lies.

I will let the smart reader think about that after telling him something about “Arius”

Arius, the Christian Egyptian priest of Alexandria together with all the Egyptian priests as well as most of the priests of the Middle East especially those in Palestine (who established the church of Circumcision and forbid eating the pigs); all denied that Jesus is the son of God.

In order to settle the fiery controversy over the true nature of Jesus, the Council of Nicaea (in 325 A.D) is called by the “Pagan” Emperor Constantine.

Arius, who lived an ascetic life, and was a man of pure morals and decided convictions was invited to attend the council of Nicaea, He is asked to sign a creed formulation stating that Jesus was of the same nature as God, but he refuses. He is then declared a heretic, and banished into Illyricum. The Pagan Constantine then imposed of the doctrine of the Divine nature of Jesus by the sword.

On the other hand, the story of Temptation of Jesus is not mentioned therein in the entire Quran.  Also, the Quran says very clearly that Jesus is but a messenger sent by Allah to the Israelites.

The Bible (King James Version)

The Temptation of Jesus

Matthew 4:1-11 (the story of Temptation of Jesus in Luke 4:1-13 is similar with some few differences and is not included here to avoid repetition)

1Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.

2And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward hungry.

3And when the tempter came to him, he said, if thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.

4But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

5Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple,

6And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.

7Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.

8Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;

9And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.

10Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

11Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him.

Mark 1:12-13

12And immediately the spirit driveth him into the wilderness.

13And he was there in the wilderness forty days, tempted of Satan; and was with the wild beasts; and the angels ministered unto him.

——————————-

Satan misquote

Psalm 91:7-16

7A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.

8Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.

9Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;

10There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.

11For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.

12They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.

13Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.

14Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.

15He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honor him.

16With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.

It is only David who said it in the entire Bible

Psalm 142:5:  “I cried unto thee, O LORD: I said, Thou art my refuge…”

——————————-

Jesus Quotes:

Deuteronomy 8:1-6

1All the commandments which I command thee this day shall ye observe to do…

2And thou shalt remember all the way which the LORD thy God led thee these forty years in the wilderness, to humble thee, and to prove thee, to know what was in thine heart, whether thou wouldest keep his commandments, or no.

3And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the LORD doth man live.

4Thy raiment waxed not old upon thee, neither did thy foot swell, these forty years.

5Thou shalt also consider in thine heart, that, as a man chasteneth his son, so the LORD thy God chasteneth thee.

6Therefore thou shalt keep the commandments of the LORD thy God, to walk in his ways, and to fear him.

Jesus: Satan is the liar and the father of lies.”

John 8:44

Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

The Bible declares many times that the Lord our God rest.

The Bible says that: God had finished the work by the seventh day; so on the seventh day he rested, the seventh day is holy because on it God rested from all the work, The Lord rested on the seventh day and blessed it and made it holy, The Lord abstained from work and rested, On the seventh day God rested from all his work, the Lord our God rest upon us.

Sciences say that many creatures do not rest at all e.g., the heart, the red cells, the white cells, the platelets, the Bacteria, the Fungi, the Sun etc.

If you read the Quran to Rest the Lord’s case in respect to the question does the Lord Rest? The Quran utters: Rest assured, the Lord does not Rest and He never ever Rest

Does the Lord rest? In the Bible

God had finished the work by the seventh day, so on the seventh day he rested

Genesis 2:2

By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work.

The seventh day is holy because on it God rested from all the work

Genesis 2:3

And God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all the work of creating that he had done.

The Lord rested on the seventh day and blessed it and made it holy.

Exodus 20:11

For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but he rested on the seventh day. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.

The Lord abstained from work and rested.

Exodus 31:17

It will be a sign between me and the Israelites forever, for in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, and on the seventh day he abstained from work and rested.’

the Lord our God rest upon us

Psalm 90:17

May the favor of the Lord our God rest upon us; establish the work of our hands for us— yes, establish the work of our hands.

On the seventh day God rested from all his work

Hebrews 4:4

And yet his work has been finished since the creation of the world. For somewhere he has spoken about the seventh day in these words: “And on the seventh day God rested from all his work.”

The Sciences and the Rest:

Expressions like tired, weak, or in need of rest and fatigue are among general practice of human beings. Fatigue is partially due to the accumulation of lactic acid in the muscles.

It is well known that balancing work and rest is the proper way to combat fatigue.

Researchers noticed the effect of Rest periods on productivity.

Post-exercise fatigue is the way you feel after typical enthusiastic exercises. Proper rest leads to improved performance of the muscles.

This is applicable for man and vertebrates but not for all the creatures.

Also, this is not applicable for some components inside our bodies.

Example of Non-Resting creatures:

The heart does not rest at all.

The red cells, the white cells, the platelets do not rest at all.

Bacteria do not rest at all.

Fungi do not rest at all.

The Sun does not rest at all.

Now, the Question is:

How come that many creatures do not rest while the Almighty Creator Rest?

It is the Quran which answered this question more than 1400 years ago.

Does the Lord rest? In the Quran:

Now let us go to the Quran to Rest the Lord’s case in respect to the question does the Lord Rest?

The Quran says: Rest assured, the Lord does not Rest and He never ever Rest

Allah is not like us.

No one is similar to Allah.

Surah 42:11

SHAKIR: the originator of the heavens and the earth; he made mates for you from among yourselves, and mates of the cattle too, multiplying you thereby; nothing like a likeness of him; and he is the hearing, the seeing

PICKTHAL: the creator of the heavens and the earth. he hath made for you pairs of yourselves, and of the cattle also pairs, whereby he multiplieth you. naught is as his likeness; and he is the hearer, the seer.

YUSUFALI: (he is) the creator of the heavens and the earth: he has made for you pairs from among yourselves, and pairs among cattle: by this means does he multiply you: there is nothing whatever like unto him, and he is the one that hears and sees (all things).

They dispute concerning Allah, and Allah is far beyond your thoughts and imaginations.

If we get tired, Allah does not.

If we rest, Allah does not

If we get sick, Allah does not

If we die, Allah does not

Surah 13:13

SHAKIR: and the thunder declares his glory with his praise, and the angels too for awe of him; and he sends the thunderbolts and smites with them whom he pleases, yet they dispute concerning Allah, and he is mighty in prowess

PICKTHAL: the thunder hymneth his praise and (so do) the angels for awe of him. he launcheth the thunderbolts and smiteth with them whom he will while they dispute (in doubt) concerning Allah, and he is mighty in wrath.

YUSUFALI: nay, thunder repeateth his praises, and so do the angels, with awe: he flingeth the loud-voiced thunder-bolts, and therewith he striketh whomsoever he will..yet these (are the men) who (dare to) dispute about Allah, with the strength of his power (supreme)!

Allah never ever rest.

Surah 50:38

SHAKIR: and certainly We Created the heavens and the earth and what is between them in six periods and there touched us not any fatigue

PICKTHAL: and verily We Created the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, in six days, and naught of weariness touched Us.

YUSUFALI: We Created the heavens and the earth and all between them in six days, nor did any sense of weariness touch Us.

Again, to Rest the Lord’s case in respect to the question does the Lord Rest? It should be emphasized that the Quran consider saying that the Lord rest or rested as a big unforgiving offense in respect to the Lord the Almighty Creator.

Anyone who believes that the Lord the Almighty Creator rest or rested put himself in the category of unbeliever and he is responsible for himself at the Day of Judgment when the Lord the Almighty Creator asks him:” Did I Rest? Do I rest? How I rest?

Prepare your answer for that big day.

Back to the main topic of my series of articles (1-40); this is my question to you smart readers: “Is the Quran quoted from the Bible “?

What Do the Bible and Quran Say About Does the Lord Rest?

The Quran utters: Rest assured, the Lord does not Rest and He never ever Rest.

You and Your Personality Part 3

On introspection, it would be clear that the purpose of life is love all, to cultivate a loving personality, a giving is a divine quality and in-depth study of human creatures indicate that purpose of human life is to give, give and give. Giving is charity or donation and is prevalent in all religions and faiths. This is called ‘Tithing’ in the Bible, ‘Daspans’ i.e. 1/10th or ‘Daan’ in Hindu Scriptures and ‘Zatak’ in Holy Quaran.

Causes and Conditions

There is often some confusion on the concept of causes and conditions within Buddhism. Many believe it is a simple matter of cause and effect and move on to study other concepts. This concept, however, is one of the most important and is deeply rooted within the Buddhist philosophy. Causes and conditions are the reason for the existence of all phenomena that we encounter in our lives and our lives have a subtle but tremendous impact upon all phenomena.

Music in Scripture – An Overview

There are many references in the Old Testament to the use of music in worship. However, the references to music in scripture which we find in the New Testament are fairly few and far between. The situation was very different for the early Christian church compared to the long established Jewish tradition. The early Christian Church was run on a house-church basis so the use of music on any significant scale was simply not possible.

Hymns of Charles Wesley – 5 of My Particular Favourites

Within the vast repertoire of church music the hymns of Charles Wesley (1707-1788) are widely considered as some of the greatest ever written. Many of the hymns which congregations most love to sing came from his pen. The scriptural detail of his writing and his inspired turns of phrase put him up there with the very best. There are also plenty to choose from as, during his lifetime, he wrote well over 6000 of them.

No, the Quran will always says thing the opposite of the Bible. It is very inconsistent in the respect that what God had saids, no one can dispute God about what he stated. Not even Muhammad…No one…okmfu

How to Eat and Drink in Bible versus Quran? (2)

This is the second article in this series that is interesting for every one:

How to Eat and Drink in Bible versus Quran?

In the Bible, the Lord God Love says: O son of Adam, shake with fear when you eat your food, and tremble with grief when you drink your water.  In the Quran, Allah says: eat and drink but do not be extravagant.

———————————————————-

How to Eat and Drink in the Bible? (2)

In Ezekiel 12:18, the Bible states that the Lord God Love says:

O son of Adam, eat your bread with trembling and drink your water with shaking and grief.

This is the most straightforward and correct translation of Ezekiel 12:18

However, you smart reader will find the translation’s discrepancies in 18 different translations obtained from 18 different versions of the Bible.

[See the first article of this series:  Eat Rite in Bible versus Quran? (1)]

From the health and medical point of view, eating our food with shaking and fear and drinking our water with trembling and grief will cause many medical troubles in both the health in general and specifically in the gastrointestinal tract.  This way of eating and drinking ultimately will lead to irritable bowl syndrome, spastic colon, bouts of diarrhea and constipation, psychological troubles etc.

It is well known that the gastrointestinal tract encompasses about 60-80% of the total body’s immune system; consequently, what is the reason that made the Lord God Love suggest this strange, unhealthy and hurtful way of eating and drinking?

Moreover, can anyone who has faith in the Bible obey this God’s commandment about eating and drinking? I really doubt.   However, it is very easy for anyone who has faith in the Quran to obey Allah’s commandment about eating and drinking

————————–

Ezekiel 12:18 (in four different versions of the Bible):

New International Version

18 “Son of man, tremble as you eat your food, and shudder in fear as you drink your water.

21st Century King James Version

18″Son of man, eat thy bread with quaking, and drink thy water with trembling and with sorrow;

English Standard Version

18″Son of man, eat your bread with quaking, and drink water with trembling and with anxiety.

Amplified Bible

18Son of man, eat your bread with shaking, and drink water with trembling and with fearfulness;

How to Eat and Drink in the Quran? (2)

This article will deal with the following topics: 1) The background and the cause of revelation of verse 7:13, 2) The meaning of the verse, 3) How did this verse ban an evil habit in worshipping Allah, 4) How did this verse put the basic knowledge about Medicine, 5) what the Prophet Muhammad said about “How to Eat and Drink”, 6) did the Prophet Muhammad accept the gift of a doctor? And 7) What the Christian doctor said about this verse?

Verse 7:13

QARIB: children of Adam, take your adornment at every place of prayer. Eat and drink, and do not waste. He does not love the wasteful.

SHAKIR: o children of Adam! Attend to your embellishments at every time of prayer, and eat and drink and be not extravagant; surely He does not love the extravagant

PICKTHAL: o children of Adam! Look to your adornment at every place of worship, and eat and drink, but be not prodigal. Lo! He loveth not the prodigals.

YUSUFALI: o children of Adam! Wear your beautiful apparel at every time and place of prayer: eat and drink: but waste not by excess, for Allah loveth not the wasters.

The Quran was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad by the angel Gabriel during the period between 610 to 633 CE.  Herein, there is a major difference between the revelation of the Bible and the Quran.  The Bible is revealed as an entire book not in fragments.

The Prophet received the revelations in fragments; it is but natural that the revealed text should have referred to the problems of the day. It may be that one of his companion died; the revelation would have promulgate the law of inheritance; it could not be that penal law regarding theft, murder, or wine drinking for instance, should have been revealed at that moment. The revelation continued during the whole missionary life of the Prophet Muhammad which was 23 years. A revelation consisted sometimes of a whole chapter, short or long and sometimes of only a few verses.

When the verse 7:13 was revealed?

1) The background and the cause of revelation of verse 7:13

The background of the cause of revelation of this verse

Arabs before Islam used to perform pilgrim in a very strange way in respect to their clothes and their eating habit during the days of pilgrim.

One of the important pillars of pilgrim from the time of Abraham, the father of the Prophets, up till now is to “Tawaf” around “Kaaba”

Tawaf (circumambulation) means to move in a circle like way around Kaaba which is the Holy Place present in Mecca.  The movement of people in Tawaf resembles the movement of electrons around the neutron in the atom; whereas the electrons represent the people and the neutron represents the “Kaaba”.  You can have a look about Tawaf by browsing it in any video presenting sites on the net.

Anyway, the Arabs before Islam had a funny idea; they used to do Tawaf while they are naked; and because they are conservative people they decided that men do Tawaf at day time and women do Tawaf at night and in the darkness!  They did Tawaf naked because they said that they make sins while they wear clothes and they have to be naked in order that Allah might accept their pilgrim.  Of course, this concept was Satanic.

The other funny custom was in the way they eat during pilgrim. Arabs were and still they are famous with their hospitality.  The Arabs dwelled in Mecca were very kind to their guests who were coming from any places outside Mecca.  The Mecca dwellers used to present a lot of food for their thousands guests.  Herein, we have an interesting discrepancy in the way of eating of the two groups.  The Mecca dwellers used to eat very little if any saying that they are the dweller of Mecca and their role is to present food for the guests of Allah not to eat; and if they were obliged to eat, they ate very little.  On the other hand, the guests of Allah, i.e., the Non- Mecca dwellers used to eat a lot, as much as they could, saying that this food is holy food that is presented to them in a holy place.  Hence, we have the two extremes; a party which does not eat or eat very little and the other party which eat a lot.

Muslims asked the Prophet Muhammad about this point.

The Angel Gabriel came in with the answer; with the verse 7:13

2) The meaning of the verse7:13:

O Children of Adam!

Don your adornment, that which covers your nakedness, at every place of worship, at the time of every prayer and at the circumambulation,

And eat and drink, what you want, but do not be excessive;

And do not declare unlawful wholesome foods, meat and fat.

Allah truly does not love those who are excessive.

Allah does not love those who transgress by leaving the lawful and going after the unlawful.

3) How did this verse ban an evil habit in worshipping Allah?

It should be emphasized that many generations of Arabs before Islam used to do Tawaf (circumambulation) around Kaaba while they were naked.  However, all Muslims do Tawaf while they are dressed and put their clothes on since this verse has revealed and up till now.  In other word, the first third of this verse forbids this evil custom.

4) How did this verse put the basic knowledge about Medicine?

5) What the Prophet Muhammad said about “How to Eat and Drink”?

6) Did the Prophet Muhammad accept the gift of a doctor?

The answers of (4), (5) and (6) are found in (7).

7) What the Christian doctor said about this verse?

It has been said that “Al-Rashid” the king of the Arabs had a smart Christian doctor.

There was a very interesting dialogue between this smart Christian doctor and the King “Al-Rashid”.

The Christian doctor said: O king, we know that the sciences are two, the religious sciences and the health and medical sciences; and you Muslims assume that the Quran talks about everything, but I could not find anything related to the health and medicine.

The King said: How is that! We have all the health and medical sciences in half a verse of the Quran.

The Christian doctor said: What verse?

The King said: Eat and drink but do not be excessive or extreme

The Christian doctor said: Wow, this verse summarizes all the health and medical sciences in few words; but my King, have you anything said or done by the Prophet Muhammad about the custom of eat and drink?

The King said: We have a lot in this field.

 First, the Prophet Muhammad said:

“The worst receptacle that the son of Adam fills is his stomach”

The Christian doctor said: Wow, what a “Hadith”!

N.B.: Hadith = Muhammad’ saying

The King said: Also, you are a Christian doctor who lives with us; but do you know that the Prophet Muhammad did not accept a doctor who was given to him as a gift from the Pope of Egypt?

The Christian doctor said: I have no idea about that.

The King said: After the opening of Mecca; the Prophet Muhammad sent to the Pope of Egypt to invite him to know the Islam.  He sent him few Muslims to give him an idea about Islam.  The Pope of Egypt sent with Muhammad’s messengers some gifts to the Prophet.  These gifts were: 1) a woman called Marie, 2) some containers of Honey and 3) a Christian doctor.

When Muhammad’s messengers came in and gave the Pope’s gifts to their Prophet; Muhammad said: We will accept the honey and the woman but we do not need a doctor.

Then the Prophet Muhammad adds:

We people do not eat unless we are hungry and if we eat we do not fill our stomach.

Then the Prophet Muhammad said:

Just eat what to keep you alive, however, If you like eating very much and you want to eat a lot, then make it as three thirds for your stomach, one third for your food, the second third for your drink and the last third for your breathing.

(This means that, the food does not exceed the third of your stomach volume wise; this is in case you like over eating).

The King continued and said: but the most global Hadith that sums up all the health and medical sciences in three words is: “the Stomach is the Home of Sickness”.

The Christian doctor said: Wow! Indeed, the Quran and Hadith go over the main points of the health and medical sciences in few words. Such words are more global and fruitful than what “Galenus” has said.

N.B.: Galenus is one of the famous Greek doctors,

This dialogue between “Al-Rashid” the king of Arabs and his smart Christian doctor happened after the death of the Prophet Muhammad by about some 170 years.  But what about the Christian doctor that had been presented as a gift from the Pope of Egypt to the Prophet Muhammad?

Muhammad gave him food, water, clothes etc. and commanded some of his fellows to accompany him and get his back to Egypt to and to thank the Pope of Egypt.

The Pope of Egypt asked why Muhammad did not accept the doctor as a gift.  The Christian doctor answered him and said: Indeed my father! You have sent me to the father of Medicine; He and his people do not need any doctor.

Look at the people at that time; they had fruitful debates, they used to respect each other, they knew how to differentiate between the true and the false.  In addition, they were very knowledgeable, all of them were very knowledgeable, the Pope of Egypt, the King of Arabs, the two Christian doctors.

But what about the Prophet Muhammad who said:

“The Stomach is the Home of Sickness”.

Was he very knowledgeable? Or was he inspired by Allah?

How come that He was ahead of the today scientists who say that the gastrointestinal tract encompasses about 60-80% of the total body’s immune system?

Back to verse 7:13, it is divided into three parts:

The first part forbids the evil custom of Tawas.

The second part gives mankind the best way of eating and drinking.

The third part declares that Allah does not love the transgressors.

Compare these meaning of verse 7:13 of the Quran with verse Ezekiel 12:18 of the Bible that says: “O son of Adam, eat your bread with trembling and drink your water with shaking and grief”.

Then you smart knowledgeable reader ask the scholars who claim that the Quran is quoted or stolen from the Bible; you ask them:

Is the Quran quoted from the Bible?  And you know how to reply them!

In Bible versus Quran: O peoples, O earth! Hear and listen (1)

This is the first article in the series: O peoples, O earth! Hear and listen in the Bible versus the Quran (1).

The Bible says: Hear, O peoples, all of you, all of them!  Listen, O earth and all it contains; all who are in it; the Lord God Love is coming out of his place; will come down and tread upon the high places of the earth and the mountains will melt under the LORD God Love.

The Quran says: O people; Fear your Lord and Keep your duty to your Lord.

And fear the torment of the day of resurrection when the parent will not be able to avail the child in aught in relation to Allah’s chastisement, nor the child to avail the parent.  Surely Allah’s promise, of resurrection after death, is absolutely true; it will certainly take place.   So do not let the life of this world deceive you, and do not let Satan; deceive you concerning Allah.

================================

O peoples, O earth! Hear and listen in the Bible (1)

Micah 1:1-4

New International Version

1 The word of the LORD that came to Micah of Moresheth during the reigns of Jotham, Ahaz and Hezekiah, kings of Judah—the vision he saw concerning Samaria and Jerusalem.

2 Hear, O peoples, all of you, listen, O earth and all who are in it, that the Sovereign LORD may witness against you, the Lord from his holy temple.

3 Look! The LORD is coming from his dwelling place; he comes down and treads the high places of the earth.

4 The mountains melt beneath him and the valleys split apart, like wax before the fire, like water rushing down a slope.

New American Standard Bible

1The word of the LORD which came to Micah of Moresheth in the days of Jotham, Ahaz and Hezekiah, kings of Judah, which he saw concerning Samaria and Jerusalem.

2Hear, O peoples, all of you; Listen, O earth and all it contains, And let the Lord GOD be a witness against you, The Lord from His holy temple.

3For behold, the LORD is coming forth from His place  He will come down and tread on the high places of the earth.

4The mountains will melt under Him And the valleys will be split, Like wax before the fire, Like water poured down a steep place.

English Standard Version

1The word of the LORD that came to Micah of Moresheth in the days of Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah, which he saw concerning Samaria and Jerusalem.

2 Hear, you peoples, all of you; pay attention, O earth, and all that is in it, and let the Lord GOD be a witness against you, the Lord from his holy temple.

3For behold, the LORD is coming out of his place, and will come down and tread upon the high places of the earth.

4And the mountains will melt under him, and the valleys will split open, like wax before the fire, like waters poured down a steep place.

King James Version

1The word of the LORD that came to Micah the Morasthite in the days of Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah, which he saw concerning Samaria and Jerusalem.

2Hear, all ye people; hearken, O earth, and all that therein is: and let the Lord GOD be witness against you, the LORD from his holy temple.

3For, behold, the LORD cometh forth out of his place, and will come down, and tread upon the high places of the earth.

4And the mountains shall be molten under him, and the valleys shall be cleft, as wax before the fire, and as the waters that are poured down a steep place.

Young’s Literal Translation

1A word of Jehovah that hath been unto Micah the Morashite in the days of Jotham, Ahaz, Hezekiah, kings of Judah, that he hath seen concerning Samaria and Jerusalem:

2Hear, O peoples, all of them! Attend, O earth, and its fulness, And the Lord Jehovah is against you for a witness, The Lord from His holy temple.

3For lo, Jehovah is going out from His place, And He hath come down, And hath trodden on high places of earth.

4Melted have been the mountains under Him, And the valleys do rend themselves, As wax from the presence of fire, As waters cast down by a slope.

================================

O peoples, O earth! Hear and listen in the Quran (1)

Verse 31:33 in four different English translations:

QARIB:

People, fear your lord, and fear the day when no father shall ransom a thing for his child nor a child for his father. The promise of Allah is surely true. so do not let the life of this present world delude you, nor let the deluder (Satan) delude you concerning Allah.

SHAKIR:

O people! guard against (the punishment of) your lord and dread the day when a father shall not make any satisfaction for his son, nor shall the child be the maker of any satisfaction for his father; surely the promise of Allah is true, therefore let not this world’s life deceive you, nor let the arch deceiver deceive you in respect of Allah

PICKTHAL:

O mankind! keep your duty to your lord and fear a day when the parent will not be able to avail the child in aught, nor the child to avail the parent. Lo! Allah’s promise is the very truth. Let not the life of the world beguile you, nor let the deceiver beguile you, in regard to Allah.

YUSUFALI:

O mankind! do your duty to your lord, and fear (the coming of) a day when no father can avail aught for his son, nor a son avail aught for his father. Verily, the promise of Allah is true: let not then this present life deceive you, nor let the chief deceiver deceive you about Allah.

The meaning of the verse:

O mankind!

O people!

Fear your Lord and Keep your duty to your Lord who creates you.

And fear the torment of the day of resurrection when the parent will not be able to avail the child in aught in relation to Allah’s chastisement, nor the child to avail the parent; ; and no child, thereon, shall avail its parent in any way.

Surely Allah’s promise, of resurrection after death, is absolutely true; it will certainly take place.

So Do not let the life of this world deceive you, and divert you] from the Truth,

Do not let the life of the world; the comfort and adornment of the life of this world beguile you.

And do not let the Deceiver, Satan; deceive you concerning Allah, because of His forbearance and granting people respite.  In other words, Do not let Satan beguile you; falsehoods in regard to Allah.
