What is it called when someone blieves that God exsisted but dosent worship him?

A question from a reader: It’s not athisum that is where they don’t beleve in any higher power. Its not agnosticism, that is where they are in desisive of the exsistance of God they will neather accept or deny God. And I am not talking about the devil so please don’t mention him. Finnaly if you dont beleve in God I don’t want to hear it.

    Worshiping wrong God
Or a very very very weak believer in God
    Less righteous deeds
Knows god is there but wont worship because he/she is in love with the material things in this world.

    They would be a deist.
Deism – believe in an impersonal god type entity, that is not involved in the world in any way. No worship is needed, there is no divine intervention, no prophets, etc.

    Note to happilycatholic:
It says have no other gods before me, which means that you can worship other gods just that if you’re going to worship him he wants pride of place.
2ndly the Sabbath day is Friday night-Saturday not Sunday and Jesus was only resurrected once. So technically no christians keep the sabbath or you only have one day/yr that you consider holy.

I believe it’s called a non-christian, hold on let me check the bible.

    1st John 2
3 And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
5 But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.

Yea… according to the Word I’m right.

A non-believer. Why would you believe in God and not worship Him? Are you just saying that you believe that He exists, but not really acknowledging His presence in your life? What’s the point?

    God bless!

It’s called sin against the first and third Commandments.

    1. I am the Lord thy God. Thou shalt have no other gods except Me.
(ie We must worship the one true God.)

    3. Remember to keep holy the Sabbath day. (Worship God on His day. For Christians, it is the Lord’s Day, the day of Jesus’ resurrection.)

The closest name for it is possibly Apostasy, although apostasy really means rejecting your Faith and Baptism. It assumes that you have known it at some time.

  • Straight Talker says:

Your question is actually proof of the nonexistence of god. No way would the almighty creator tolerate that kind of grammar and spelling. Which is why in his divine wisdom he would have supplied a spell checker.

    No wait….

  • Sambo says:

A Deist is most likely. They believe there is a God, but believe he doesn’t affect the world. Otherwise a Theist, as it doesn’t imply worship, simply belief.

  • Jimbo says:

The word “existed” is past tense. If God no longer exists, then why would anyone worship Him? God EXISTS. He is. Scripture calls those who believe God exists and don’t worship Him, condemned.
